While most "Star Parties" at the Scobee Education Center occur late at night this is a 'special' star party during the day as we watch a partial solar eclipse visible from San Antonio, Texas. Partnering with members of the San Antonio Astronomical Association (SAAA) and the Astronomy department at San Antonio College, the Scobee Education Center will open it Powell Star Deck and surrounding terraces for our community to properly watch a solar eclipse and take part in related educational activities and planetarium presentations.

Evening events of this nature typically draw more than a thousand viewers, so when our site opens to register sign in to secure your solar viewing glasses which are to be available on a first come, first serve basis.
